Lancashire Day

Lancashire day was 27th November this year and an ideal opportunity to flex the GX5BAY callsign. Linda (G0YLM) and I (G0VGS) ran on 40m and managed 180 contacts between 09:30 and 16:30 GMT. We had a great time. The band was really helpful and even managed to pop up a US call in the middle of a UK pileup early on! 59 +20 each way. Astonishing but welcome 🙂

Brian (G0RDH) ran on North West Fusion Group and had a great day chatting to everyone. Chris (G4LDS) ran mostly on 20m using GB4LDM (Lancashire Day, Morecambe) and with his compromised setup at home managed a creditable 26 contact with 12 countries worked.

This kind of operation is a great way to have fun on amateur radio and people are always pleased to hear a station on the air. I can recommend it to anyone!
